Rabbinic Work

So you’ve enjoyed or been inspired by something I’ve written? First of all – Yay! I’m so glad to hear that! As a writer and teacher it gives me an immense sense of fulfillment to know that something I’ve said has had an impact on someone’s life. For me the meaning of this work that I do truly lies in the holy sparks my words have raised up in others and those that others have caused to rise up within me.

As it turns out, however, I am not just a disembodied mind saying things on the internet – I am also an actual flesh-and-blood rabbi capable of going places to say things in person! (I know, go figure, right?)

I serve as the rabbi of Reconstructionist Congregation Beth Israel, northern New Jersey’s only Reconstructionist congregation. Small, but mighty, we meet at Temple Israel & JCC of Ridgewood, NJ. If you live in North Jersey or happen to be in the area, I hope you’ll consider stopping by for prayer services or for one of the many different programs we run – who knows, you might even find your spiritual home!

If you would be interested in arranging for me to come and speak at your synagogue or school, or in learning Jewish text and tradition with me, or in having me officiate at your wedding or other life cycle event, please get in touch with me via this site’s Contact page.
